Are you a smart, motivated recent undergraduate graduate looking to expand your research skills and build a strong foundation for graduate or medical school? If you are curious, a fast learner, and excited about biomedical research, this position may be a great opportunity for you.
We are looking for people who are curious, intellectually ambitious, and rigorous—people who want to understand why an experiment works, not simply perform it.
Trainees in our laboratory are encouraged to develop scientific ownership. You will learn how to turn an observation into a question, a question into a hypothesis, and a hypothesis into a rigorous experimental strategy. As projects develop, we expect trainees to increasingly drive their own scientific thinking rather than simply execute experiments designed by someone else.
Our laboratory combines tumor immunology with cutting-edge approaches including CRISPR-based perturbation, single-cell sequencing, TCR analysis, spectral flow cytometry, functional T-cell assays, proteomics, immunopeptidomics, and in vivo tumor models. But techniques are tools—not the destination. The biological question always comes first.
Mentorship is individualized. Different people enter the laboratory with different levels of experience and different goals. Our responsibility is to help each person become substantially stronger than when they arrived—scientifically, technically, and intellectually—and to prepare them for the next stage of their career.
We care deeply about rigor, creativity, collaboration, integrity, and generosity toward one another. Excellent science and a healthy laboratory culture are not competing priorities; we believe each makes the other stronger.

Training the next generation of scientists is an important part of our lab's mission. We welcome exceptional high school and undergraduate students who are highly motivated, intellectually curious, and passionate about pursuing a future in science. These training opportunities are highly competitive and best suited for students with exceptional drive, maturity, and a strong desire to grow as future scientists.
